FAQ

What is happening to Robo 3T?
3T is halting development work on Robo 3T and we are setting the code repository to read-only. Users can continue to download the application but we recommend that they download Studio 3T Free to evaluate it.
Why is work on Robo 3T being halted?
Robo 3T is deeply based on the Mongo shell client. This older client has been deprecated in MongoDB 5.0 and is not expected to be maintained in the future. The new Mongosh client is a Node-based tool and is not compatible with the current Robo 3T architecture. Studio 3T took the decision to create a free edition of their tool suite to replace Robo 3T which matched the functionality and would be able to track future MongoDB developments. You can read more about this on the Robo 3T blog.
Can I run Robo 3T and Studio 3T Free side by side?
Yes. Studio 3T Free will also import your Robo 3T connection settings. As 3T has been responsible for Robo 3T, we have ensured that they work well alongside each other.
The Robomongo/Robo 3T site and blog is being preserved at this time, with the original content below.

“I know the guys at 3T well and I know they’ll do a great job of taking Robomongo forward — I can’t wait to see the tool develop further through their backing and the support of the great Robomongo community!”

Robomongo is Robo 3T

The Robo 3T (formerly Robomongo) tool has been acquired by 3T Software Labs, the creators of the MongoDB client Studio 3T (formerly MongoChef).

3T will continue development of Robo 3T in parallel with its own MongoDB GUI and the good news is that it will be making Robo 3T free for all users from now on. This is an exciting new step for Robo 3T and its community, which will benefit users and the wider MongoDB ecosystem. Provides real autocompletion

Robo 3T (formerly Robomongo) not only analyzes the semantic of the code, but also executes it in an internal JavaScript VM, allowing us to give you a runtime autocompletion that is impossible to obtain statically.

Robo 3T's lightweight UX experience is thanks to its asynchronous, non-blocking UI
